More on the Poincare conjecture
The Strings 2006 conference is under way in Beijing, and yesterday Field Medalist Yau Shing-Tung gave a popular talk on the Poincare conjecture. Isn't it odd that the popular press hasn't picked up on this at all? I guess they considered it solved when Perelman published his original papers.
